School Play

PLOT SUMMARY: Our story begins during the post-depression era in the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. Davey is a little guy that is virtually un-wanted by everyone in his small town, everyone except Gabbi, an independent spinster who finds out that her heart is truly bigger than her mouth. Gabbi’s land adjoins “Pop” Dewey’s farm resulting in much conflict as the two of them have never been able to get along with each other. Their land is threatened by a fast talking Colonel from the big city of Knoxville who attempts to “trick” them into selling their property to him. They, along with the church choir, must learn to work together to save their little town. Of course, all good stories need a hero—and this story certainly has one!

11.20.09--"Hart Condition"--A Huge Success!

We would like to send out a BIG thank you to all who supported and attended this year's school play. "Hart Condition" ran both Friday and Saturday nights and it was reported to have had the largest audiences since the school began doing plays in 2003. We trust that the Lord spoke to you through this entertaining and heart-felt play. DVD's of the play and flash drives with still shots of the play are available in the school's Business Office.

SPECIAL SCHOOL MATINEE: The students and faculty of Gospel Light Christian School would like to invite you to a special “morning matinee” of our annual school play. On November 11th you will have the opportunity to experience a play that encompasses drama, comedy and music. "Not Wanted" is a play about the important role God has planned for each of us.

The students and faculty of Gospel Light Christian School would like to invite you to our annual school play. We have been doing school plays for the past eight years and would be honored to have you join us for this one. This year our high school drama department “& Co.” will be performing a play written by Mr. Jeremy Chandler with original music and lyrics by Mrs. Tanya Day. On November 11 & 12 you will have the opportunity to experience a play that encompasses drama, comedy and music. Not Wanted is a play that reminds us that we are all important to God and He wants to use each of us in a special way.
